Outfit Of The Day #3 | The Alternative Edition

Two Three Metallica Tee.jpg

So remember in my Big Blogger Expo post (if not, you can catch up here), I promised I’d post an outfit of the day wearing the tee I picked up from Two Three? Well here it is!

Back in the day, I used to be a proper little rock chick/goth girl. And when I say goth girl, I don’t mean Amy Lee with pretty corsets and flowing skirts (okay, tell a lie, that happened sometimes), I mean black Criminal Damage baggy jeans, band tees/rude slogan tees and black trainers, New Rocks or DMs. And a bit quite a lot of attitude to go with it.

I was 16 years old and started hanging out with a 17 year old boy who liked metal, he introduced me to Metallica and I was hooked. The boy soon disappeared off the scene and out of my heart but my love for Metallica never wavered. Their electrifying riffs and haunting lyrics made me feel alive.

In my heart I’m still that girl, even though the clothes I wear now don’t always reflect that. But when I saw this tee at the Expo, I knew it had to be mine. It’s an altered tee with “Give me fuel, give me fire” written on it, which are lyrics from my favourite ever song of theirs; Fuel. I’m a little bit in love with it, it’s so comfy to wear and that slash across the cleavage isn’t too revealing, after all, I’m not 16 any more 😉

I also love that it’s a one-off design so I’m not gunna see loads of kids wearing the same thing and not having a clue who Metallica are. Yeah, H&M, Bershka, Topshop and the like, I’m looking at you right now!

I teamed the tee with a pair of casual demin shorts from Next, a studded bracelet I’ve had for years, a pastel “fuck it” bracelet made for me by the lovely Vee and my beloved Dainty Mid Converse. And yes, I really am that pale 😀

I was lucky enough to see Metallica play live in 2011 at the last Sonisphere and, standing in a crowd of 30,000+ people, I cried. It’s still on my list of top 5 moments. Ever. Even though they didn’t play Fuel. Bastards.
