I absolutely love reading other blogger’s Friday Favourites (think the brilliant Hannah Gale) and Friday Fives (like the equally brilliant Dork Face). I knew I wanted to do my own spin, but didn’t want to use the same titles. I was going to use Fab Friday but I’m not really the kind of girl who can get away with using the word fab in sentences, unless I’m talking about the ice lolly!
It wasn’t until I was in the shower and nowhere near my phone, laptop or a pad of paper that inspiration struck, bloody typical! I had the idea of “Friday is for…” which means I can write about any topic, like Friday is for home inspiration and share what home décor items I’m coveting or already own, or I could do a Friday is for reminiscing post and share old photos with you all. I really hope you enjoy reading them as much as I’ll enjoy writing them.
This Friday is for being a little too honest and making a really hard decision.
J sent me a photo at work of a parcel I received on Wednesday. He thought it was an eyeshadow palette that I’d won in a competition, but as I’m ridiculously honest, I admitted that I’d bought two Sleek make-up palettes from Emma at Emmy’s Beauty Cave. There will be a post on those to come! The following conversation then happened:
J: Don’t you have enough now?
Me: Now I do. And any more I get will be prizes from competitions I won. No more make-up for Holly this year 🙁
Whilst I was joking and J doesn’t mind my new found make-up obsession, the more I thought about it, the more I wondered if I could actually do it; go to the end of December without buying any new make-up at all. So I’ve made the decision not to buy anything new. At all. Not even a little bit. Wish me luck!
Have you ever had a self-imposed make-up buying ban? How long did you last? If you’ve never banned yourself from buying anything, how long do you think you last without buying any new makeup? x
