The Vanity X and Crownbrush Event

Closingwinter.jpg

A couple of weeks ago, Aine (from Honestly Aine) and I were going to meet up for a coffee in Brighton; but then she said that Crownbrush were having a small event at the new Vanity X make-up academy and did I want to go that instead? So we hit London to check it out!Vanity X are already well-established in Ireland as a busy make-up academy, having been running since 2009. They’re now in London offering full and part-time courses on full make-up artistry, bridal make-up, theatrics and more.

When we got there, Nina was creating a beautiful day look. She explained what she was doing each step of the way, which products and which brushes she was using.

Once she was finished, Maisy showed us a beautiful theatrical fish-inspired look. We got to ask loads of questions and the model looked horrified when I asked how easy it was to take off face paints afterwards; the answer was incredibly difficult!!

It really inspired me to want to learn more make-up tips and try doing new things.

After the two masterclasses, Aine and I decided to head off to Covent Garden for a bit of retail therapy, but before we left, we were given a goody bag from Crownbrush!

I got a Duo Face brush, an Inglot Rainbow eyeshadow and a Sosu nail varnish in Grape Gatsby. I also accidentally might have bought a Contour brush and a Tapered Crease brush from the Crownbrush stand. I blame Aine, she’s such an enabler!

In Covent Garden, we popped into ALL the make-up shops; Charlotte Tilbury, MAC, Kiko and 3ina. (well okay, not ALL the shops, but it seemed like a lot!) I didn’t actually buy anything, I was ridiculously restrained, but Aine did and you can see what she bought here.

Once we were done, we took the train back to Brighton and I fell into an exhausted slump when I got home! If you want to see a vlog of our adventure; check out Aine’s video here 🙂

I’m so excited to try out my new brushes, I bought a contour kit ages ago but haven’t been able to use it properly as I haven’t had a decent brush! I’ll pop a blog post up showing how I get on with the brushes soon 🙂

Have you got any Crownbrush brushes? What’s your favourite and what would you recommend? Let me know in the comments below 🙂 x
