I always feel that art can really change a house into a home and give it a personal touch. That being said, I’ve never really been in a position to buy art before (posters from magazines definitely don’t count!).
For months now I’ve been coveting the prints by a lovely local Brighton artist, Linda Boucher (located in Kings Road Arches in Brighton, near the Pier) and I decided I was going to treat myself to one as an early birthday present.
In the end, I had to buy three as I couldn’t pick one! There’s something beautiful about their simplicity but they’re really sweet and charming at the same time. I’ve only added photos of two of the prints as the other is on order (an otter chasing fish) which should be ready to pick up this weekend!
We currently have no pictures up on our walls as we were waiting to sand and paint before that happened. Luckily, J is going to put them up for me as part of my birthday present. I know I definitely want one in the lounge, but I’m not sure where else; perhaps the hall or our bedroom. The only place I know they definitely won’t be going is the dining room. It’s become a bit of a man cave, complete with cement mixer (which is an odd conversation piece).
As soon as they’re up properly, I shall take proper photos. Does anyone else have a favourite artist they want to share? I’d love to expand my art collection 🙂 x
