“Accidental” Superdrug purchases with reviews

So I popped into Superdrug today, just to see if they had the Base Corrector Palette by Revolution.  They didn’t. Instead I accidentally picked up  a bottle of Micellar Cleansing Water by Garnier, a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, some Scrubbing Me Softly Body Scrub by Zoella and a 4 way nail buffer.

The Micellar Water: It promises to remove make-up whilst cleansing and soothing with no need for rinsing.  I’ve just taken off my make-up and I have to say I’m impressed!

It was really easy to take off my eye make-up, including my eyeliner, which I usually find stubbornly stays on.  My face feels quite soft and I don’t feel as though there’s any residual product left on my skin.  The bottle says there’s no perfume and it’s right, there isn’t!  My first impressions are good and I think I’m going to love using this product!

Verdict: 5/5.

Complexion sponge: I always find I leave brush marks on my face or if I use my fingertips, it doesn’t blend evenly, so I picked up this sponge to see whether I can improve my foundation look.

What to say about this seemingly average sponge?  It’s amazing!  I did half my nose and a bit of cheek with the sponge and the other half with my brush.  The results were brilliant and the sponge blends the foundation in really well.  There are three parts to it; the main round bit is used for large areas like cheeks and forehead, the flat bit at one end is for contouring round the nose and the pointed end is used for fixing mistakes.  I haven’t taken photos of the results as I’m suffering a massive breakout at the moment and have thousands of open pores 🙁 but I absolutely love my new sponge!

Verdict: 5/5.

Scrubbing Me Softly Body Scrub:  I wanted a nice scrub to use as I’ve only been using a loofah to scrub with! I was instantly attracted to this product because of the lovely packaging with it’s pretty pastel colours.  I usually find buying products based on this can usually be a con, but not in this case.  It smells really nice and summery with hints of blueberries and Acai extract.

I’ve just got out of the shower and I’m so happy! The scrub is amazing! It smells subtle so it’s not over-powering at all.  The mixture feels really soft when you scoop it out but it’s full of exfoliating beads.  My skin now feels so soft and I wasn’t left with the greasy/sticky residue you get with some scrubs!  I can’t wait for my next shower now 😀

Verdict: 5/5.

Have you guys tried any of these products?  If so, what did you think? x
